MassKara to hold 5 nights of fireworks show
MassKara revelers will be treated to five nights of “fireworks galore” onOctober 19 to 23, the highlight days of the festival, Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said in a press conference today [Oct. 6].
Called the “Sadya ang MassKara with Mayor Bing: The 1st Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia Fireworks Competition,” it is the newest major event of the festival.
The show starts at 10 every night.
There will be eight participants coming from around the country:
Al Aquino (Cabuyao, Laguna), Bathans Fireworks (Lemery, Batangas), E & B Fireworks (Pandi, Bulacan), Pyro Kreation (Sta. Maria, Bulacan), Planet DX (Bukidnon), Tower Fireworks (South Cotabato), Peacock Fireworx (Bacolod), and Pelagio Fireworks (Hinigaran).
There will be two competing entries each night from Oct. 19 to 22. On Oct. 23 will be the Champion’s Showdown at the BGC.
A subsidy of P30,000 will be given to the eight participants. The top 3 winners will be given contracts of P100,000, P50,000, and P30,000, respectively, for the Champion’s Showdown.
During the press conference, Energreen Power executive director David Tan turned over a check worth P550,000 to MassKara Festival director Eli Francis Tajanlangit.
Joining the press conference are Councilor Em Ang, festival action officer; Grid Integration manager Henry Sia and Contracts and Compliance manager Mila Arana, both of Energreen.
Leonardia thanked Tan for his “sense of social involvement,” and Energreen Power for the support to the MassKara Festival.
For his part, Tan said he and Energreen are very glad to be part of the MassKara Festival.*
