1,000 join MassKara job fair
More than 1,000 applicants participated in the MassKara Job Fair, organized by the Public Service and Employment Office (PESO) of the Bacolod city government, held at the BAYS Center Monday [Oct. 17].
A total of 35 local companies and 30 overseas agencies joined the job fair, which is an official event of the 37th MassKara Festival.
PESO-Bacolod manager Anthony Jose Ayco said, “This job fair is a promise of Mayor Evelio Leonardia during the election— that the City Mayor’s Office will provide jobs for the residents of Bacolod through this project.”
“We are planning to institutionalize this job fair every MassKara, so that our people will be happy that they can find jobs through this activity,” Ayco added.
He said there will also be a follow-up interview for qualified job seekers that are scheduled at PESO.
Gracing the job fair were Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya and representatives from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, and the Department of Labor and Employment.*
